The Discover/Recover Theatre Project

“A Face in the Crowd” is based on true accounts of the lived experiences of individuals who have come face to face with mental health challenges. It will explore stories of darkness, hope, confusion, humour, friendship, resilience and recovery.

Born out of a series of storytelling workshops, the play aims to show that the real human experience of mental health difficulties are all around us but we often don’t see it.
It is rarely spoken about and the details of the impact on individuals and families are rarely shared.

This project, through the sharing of sincere true-life stories, offers not only a rare glimpse into a hidden world but also offers enlightenment and hope.

Director Jim Roche is a professional actor originally from Wexford, now based in Dublin. He has assembled an impressive troupe of actors with a long history of treading the boards both in theatre and film at home and abroad.

There will be an optional mental health educational workshop on Friday 5th January 2018 in Dr. Steeven’s hospital, exploring themes from the play.

The workshop will be one hour approximately in duration. Sign-up for the workshop will be available after the performance.
