Gaiety School of Acting
On the outskirts of the M50 a secret and nocturnal army is at work. Every last one with a story to tell.
Crypto-Mario plots the end of the world, Harry and Connor cook up a dancefloor banger, Lily foretells the future, and the wraith-like Citizen hauls her treasure up Ballyfermot Road. The hopes, visions, and hallucinations of the self-stackers of a supermarket play out over one long night shift.
On the washing powder aisle
Maggie is Queen of the Night
Without medal or relic to protect her
Not Cillit Bang or Domestos
She stalks the corridors of your dreams
She don’t sleep, she schemes
How to drum up coin
For her Katy’s communion shoes…

ABOUT THE COMPANY
The Gaiety School of Acting – The National Theatre School of Ireland – provides training in the dramatic arts up to the highest level, empowering people of all ages and stages, cultures and backgrounds, to lift their horizons, discover their artistry, and go beyond what they thought was possible.
We train actors for careers in stage, screen and audio and our Professional Actor Training programme is the longest running course of its type in Ireland.
The School was founded in 1986 by the internationally renowned theatre director Joe Dowling, in response to the lack of full time actor training programmes in Ireland at that time. The School was led for over thirty years from 1993 by Director Patrick Sutton. Since 2024 the Director & CEO is Will Wollen. We are widely regarded as the country’s premier training facility for actors.
