The Irish Premiere of Magali Mougel’s modern day classic is an unflinching and darkly comic story of a woman who rebels against the life she didn’t choose.
Another unbearably hot evening. It’s 8.45pm. Suzy Storck sits by the window.
A glass of wine. A bottle. Three bottles.
Her husband’s left. Maybe he’s coming home. Maybe he’s not.
Upstairs, the sound of tiny hands behind a bedroom door. Her children. Suzy locked them in. Another glass. The smell of an animal that isn’t quite yet dead.
And still the sun will just not set.
Suzy realises she never chose any of this. She wonders how she ended up here. After tonight, she might never find her way out.
This powerful and haunting play receives its Irish Premiere this April. Directed by Ursula McGinn, the first recipient of the Early-Career Directors’ Award from Cathal Cleary Theatre Company.
