First Fortnight Festival 2017
Milena Matejko’s Public Diary is a participatory installation that explores public practice for catharsis and relief through written self-expression. Through the interactive installation of notebooks in Smock Alley toilets, The Public Diary creates an effective way for people to express their feelings which otherwise might not be heard. A public diary entry gives the opportunity to share our thoughts and troubles with one another openly, addressing the stigma around keeping quiet about our problems. The work aims to foster connection and relatability between people.
