AboutFACE is delighted to present its 10th annual NEWvember Festival of New Plays! Come and join us for a weekend of rehearsed readings of the most exciting new plays from our open call, plus post-show Q&As with the writers.

Past plays developed at NEWvember have gone on to Off-Broadway, international and award-winning productions, including recent hits Looking at the Sun and The Gods of the Ozarks.
The NEWvember Dublin 2022 plays are:
 
The Patriarch by Shayne Kennedy
Mikayla is brought to Chicago to meet her fiancée’s family for the first time – and uncovers deeply buried secrets, rotten roots and dark magic in four generations of an Irish-American clan, in this engrossing tale of love, legacy and Celtic myth.
Saturday 5th November at 3pm + post-show Q&A with the writer

Dear Viggo and the Blue Haired Woman by Doc Andersen-Bloomfield 
From the 1960s on, male undercover police officers infiltrated left wing groups in the UK, manipulating female members into long lasting relationships. Three women come to an inquiry searching for justice – and answers, in this thought-provoking story of deception and duty.

Purgatory Intermediate Room by Ned Dougherty 
When Jasper arrives into an unexpected classroom, he finds a poet, a novelist and a stand-up comedian, all struggling to get out, and a rather unusual teacher showing them the way, in this mind-bending existential comedy about graduation.
 
Sunday 6th November at 1pm + post-show Q&A with the writer

Development Spotlight Presentation: Daniel by Catherine Higgins-Moore 
From playing on beaches and drinking in bars in New York to changing nappies in suburban Cork, we follow the trajectory of four people, two Irish, two American, searching for love, connection and meaning in this powerful transatlantic tale about the impact of grief, aging and lost dreams.
Sunday 6th November at 5pm + post-show Q&A with the writer

Duration: Each event will include a rehearsed reading, an interval and a post-show Q&A and will last approx 2 hours 15 mins.
