About Rosemary Loughlin
I am an actor and lawyer and love getting to the bottom of things, sorting myth from fact. Over the years I have studied acting with some great teachers, becoming immersed in Meisner and Stanislavski, as well as voice and body work. During a protracted period studying the art of classical acting I became acquainted with the long standing proposition that the name ‘Shakespeare’ was a penname. Intrigued to learn more I embarked on a course of research and travel to places in England and Northern Italy. Much of the show describes these travels and the adventures and discoveries along the way.
A Rose by Any Other Name debuted at Edinburgh Fringe in 2022 to very enthusiastic audience and press reviews and was performed subsequently in Abbeyfeale, at the Dunlavin Arts Festival and the Alternative Kilkenny Arts Festival.
