A Letter to a Character – The Book Show RTE Radio 1

The Book Show

Sat 21 Oct | 12pm | Main Space

Most books need strong characters but why do we love some more than others?

How do writers create memorable characters and how do readers respond to them?

In a special episode of RTÉ Radio 1’s The Book Show, Sinéad Gleeson is joined on stage by some of Ireland’s leading writers to discuss how characters in novels are created.

The audience will hear from listeners who have written letters to their favourite – or least favourite – characters.

Come to hear what our competition entrants thought and what a panel of writers including Fiction Laureate Anne Enright, Donal Ryan and Lisa McInerney have to say about writing characters.

Suitable for ages 12+
Running time : 60 mins

The event is free but ticketed and a ticket is necessary for entry.
