Z E I T is an Irish electronic music synth collective borne out of a common passion for synthesizers and the pioneering electronic music era of the 1970s and 1980s.

Z E I T Events presents an evening of improvised electronic music by four established artists each from different genres and experiences within the expansive electronic music scene both here and abroad.

This eclectic mix of the contemporary and the retrospective will be performed on an array of analogue synthesizers and electronic effects in what promises to be a very unique performance of electronic soundscapes and sonic auditory experiences.

Analog On

Analog On is an experimental electronic music ensemble that composes and performs on vintage analogue electronics and modular synthesizers. The group consists of Shauna Caffrey and Lara Albergo on oscillators, theremin, saw and electronics, and Richard Duckworth on modular synthesizer and effects. Analog On made their debut at the Ideopreneurial Entrephonics II festival at the Freemasons’ Hall in April 2016, and, since then, has recorded their first release on the iconic Moog System 55 in Surrey and extensively toured in Ireland and UK. The aesthetic is that of the time-warp cultist with retro and future aesthetics co-existing in the same cultural and temporal space. Analog On make their third appearance at ZEIT.

Bouvetøya

Electronic composer and musician Michael Jones has recorded and performed as Bouvetøya since 2008. Bouvetøya uses a heavy sequencer driven style of electronica reminiscent of the Berlin School genre pioneered by Klaus Schulze and Tangerine Dream in the 1970s. He has achieved a loyal following in Europe and releases his music through the German EM label SynGate Records, which he joined in 2012. His most recent tour saw him perform at Awakenings in the UK in August.

Dave O Mahony

Dave O Mahony is a PhD student at the University of Limerick, Ireland. His compositions have been performed at the Sines & Squares Festival 2014 & 2016 (Manchester, UK), The Hilltown New Music Festival (Ireland), the Daghda Gravity & Grace Festival (Ireland), the Society of ElectroAcoustic Music United States (Eugene Or.), New York ElectroAcoustic Music Festival (NY), ElectroAcoustic Barn Dance (Jacksonville Fl.). He is a member of Irish Sound Science and Technology (ISSTA) and has an interest in the brainwave manipulation of modular synthesizers.

Modular Creations

Deividas Tolvaisa is the man behind Modular Creations. Inspired by shamanic practices and life changing experiences, Modular Creations was created out of modular synth explorations while he was living in Berlin. Generating a mesmerising plethora of ambient experimental soundscapes he brings his modular system to life on stage and also makes his ZEIT debut.
