Candlelit Tales
Most of us can name the great heroes of Irish legend, but what about the great heroines? Women who fought as hard as their husbands and brothers and sons, who struggled under curses and captivity, who rebelled, who avenged their loved ones, and avenged themselves. Women who deserve to be remembered!

Candlelit Tales is a troupe of storytellers, musicians and performers who are mad about Irish mythology. The key word there is mad. We believe that the stories that survive, passed down through an oral tradition, are the stories that a culture loved enough to want to hear over and over and over again, the ones that tell us something true. But when they were written down, and pinned on a page like butterflies, the life gradually drained out of them. We want to bring back the craic of the old myths and legends, the enchantment, passion and play. We want to share these stories with the world, so that everyone can hear and be inspired by the wealth of wit and wisdom in these old tales.
