Sadist, sexual predator, murderer and necrophile, Peter Kurten is a monster by anybody’s definition. But is he insane?

Idealistic young attorney Justus Wehner is charged with Kurten’s defence and must unravel the twisted tale of Kurten’s life, his crimes, and the darkness that lurks in all men’s souls.

Normal is an expressionistic drama detailing the life and crimes of Germany’s most infamous serial of the 20th Century, Peter Kurten, the so-called Dusseldorf Ripper. It presents a fascinating and challenging investigation into the mind of a killer, and the effect that investigation has on those pursuing it. Set in the Gothic confines of Smock Alley’s Boy’s School Theatre space, expect chills, sick laughter and an altogether unforgetable evening with Mittel-Europe’s own (and very real) Jack The Ripper.
