“The Greatest Of The Fenians” Pádraig Pearse

Actor, writer and musician Fia Rua (Eoghan Burke) presents his one hour show on the life of renowned exiled Fenian, John Devoy (1842-1928).

The show covers a remarkable life, from post famine Ireland to his hugely significant exiled years in New York.

Following its Irish debut in 2018, the show has recently travelled to New York where it received a huge reaction.

Fia Rua made his debut Smock Alley Theatre appearance in 2016’s Money For The Sun production of The Quare Fellow by Brendan Behan. Since then
he has performed consistantly in various productions including Playboy Of The Western World (Town Hall Galway) and The Plot (New Theatre Dublin).

On Thursday 8 May you can see both From The Plains – The Story of John Devoy (1pm) and Writers in the Stars (7pm) for only €15!

As a singer/songwriter Fia Rua has released three albums and toured Ireland and Europe, he is currently recording album number four which is due for release later in 2019. Glorious Shambles Productions is a sister company of Wilde Shamrock Touring Theatre. It was set up in 2018 to platform work that either purely entertains, educates or both!
