Two new works of theatre from Black Box to Red Carpet Theatre ….
Bad Sunday: Mark Wale’s comedy about a Sunday drive gone awry takes the audience on a riotous journey from Phibsboro to Howth Head. Join this lovably dysfunctional Dublin family as they attempt to enjoy a sunny day in August in Da’s newly acquired loan of 1966 Ford Zephyr! Crammed into the car together, this family and the audience will revel in shock, awe and hilarity as truths are revealed and the journey takes some raucous twists and turns. The play cleverly combines the gritty, realism of everyday life with a theatrical style inspired by Commedia dell’arte making it a highly energetic piece with a cast of characters that are as relatable as they are outrageous.
Incensed: Three women attend one man’s funeral but who are they and how did they know him? What connects them? A roundabout series of dubious circumstances involving a tangle with a wild deer, a mysterious sum of €5000 and a string of lovers that stretches from here to blessed Sunday. Who will be the first to reveal themselves under the watchful eye of God? or worse, Susie O’Farrrell Henderson? A newly devised one act play by Black Box to Red Carpet Theatre Company, based on an original idea by John Delaney, written by Christopher Hayes and Caroline Montgomery.
