Aisling Ghéar celebrates the life of one of the most iconic figures in Irish cultural history. Alice Milligan; Methodist, Nationalist, poet and journalist, was hailed as the ‘infant nurse’ of the biggest Irish political movement in 20th century history, and was a tireless human rights campaigner as well as an organiser of the Irish language movement in Ulster. This unique one-woman show charts the extraordinary life of a remarkable pioneer.

Aisling Ghéar is Ireland’s longest running Irish language theatre company, and we are based in Belfast. We aim to contribute to the development of Irish language theatre and the invaluable contribution it makes in expanding and enriching the vibrant cultural experience of this country’s unique heritage.

‘Alice Milligan is possibly the best kept secret in Irish history.’
